IDENTIFICATION KIT

It is hoped that this kit will never need to be used. However, in the event of a disaster or catastrophic emergency, such as a strong earthquake, survival will often be the result of being able to quickly identify the most urgent needs of the people in the community, and providing help as quickly as possible.

It is suggested that you keep this kit in a convenient location where all members of the household will be aware of it, and that you instruct them in its proper use. If there is a disaster please use the contents of this kit as follows:

• If all is well, Hang the GREEN sign near your front door.
• If you need help but the need is not critical, Hang the YELLOW sign near your front door.
• If there is a critical need, Hang the RED sign near your front door.
• If there is a death, Hang the BLACK sign near your front door.
• If you are going to abandon your house, Hang the WHITE sign near your front door.

All signs should be located so as to be visible from the street.
